Contributions to the Friends of Senator Carl Levin committee are subject to the prohibitions and limitations of the Federal Election Campaign Act. That law prohibits federal contributions from corporations, labor unions, and foreign nationals who are not admitted for permanent residence. All contributions must be made from personal funds and may not be reimbursed by any other person. Contributions are not tax deductible for federal income tax purposes. Individual contributions are limited to $2,300 for the primary election and $2,300 for the general election per person. A contribution of $4,600 will be allocated $2,300 to the primary election and $2,300 to the general election.
